With our first buy, we noticed numerous errors in the listing description vs. the actual property's history. We're interested in historic property for B&Bs, but aside from doing our own archival research and trying to track down documents or photographs… are there any standards practiced for authenticating the "year built" date or is just up to the quality of the agent and trying to piece the facts together?
What does the process look like from the agent's side with historic builds in terms of authenticating the seller's "story"? Thanks for your help!
