I keep getting notifications from Redfin that a unit is available in a complex that I love. Every single time, the listing disappears later in the day. This has happened three times, every ten days. A realtor I'm working with called to inquire and was told that the listing is on hold to install new flooring, and to wait a week or so.
Normally I'd believe that at face value except 1) the unit was sold last year, and the listing photos from then show gorgeous hardwood floors. Of course, something may still be wrong with them but… 2) The listing agency has the worst reviews I've ever seen on Yelp. Average of one star. Dozens of accusations of unethical behavior. Nothing specifically referring to this agent or this type of situation, but it makes me very uneasy.
So while I wait for the listing to hopefully reappear for good, what's the bad faith interpretation of what's happening here? So I can prepare myself to try to move on…
