Tried and failed to secure a mortgage through my bank with 3.5% down; the reason being is that our jobs are too far from where we plan on buying a house, so they won't push it through, despite us being able to afford it and meeting all other criteria.
Is there anyway for us to make this happen, without moving our jobs first? I know we could have it labelled as a "vacation" property but that jumps our minimum down payment amount to 10%, which we can't afford. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
