So My fiancé and I are currently renting a house and will be moving out at the end of July. The owners are putting the house on the market at the beginning of July and have asked us if we're willing to allow showings of the house while we live there over the next month. We will be in the process of packing and moving out, so it seems like a bad idea on the owners part and a pain in our ass to keep the house spotless while prepare to move. Due to this inconvience and the fact that we have the leverage in this situation would it be reasonable to renegotiate our rent for the final month and allow walk throughs? We currently live in California, our rent is $1200 and I was planning on asking for it to be lowered to $800 due to hardship. I am unsure of the language in our current contract but I know the owner personally (we're not great friends just acquaintances from work in the past). I'm just asking out of curiosity. Please offer any advice or information. Thank you!
