Asking on behalf of my sister's situation. They were looking at buying land and went under contract with seller, they needed to have the land surveyed to secure a loan with the bank. They paid 5k to have it done and was quoted 2.5 weeks to complete it. After days of calling to have it completed well after the 2.5 weeks, it is finally done but now the bank only has a couple of days to finish the loan. And now the listing realtor informed them the sellers got an offer for the full selling price and they are afraid that the sellers will take the other offer once their contract lapses and they will be out 5k. Does my sister have any kind of recourse for the 5k?
