2 guys rolled up on a rental house asking for permission to take photos of the outside of the house. The only info they had was the name of property owner which is in public records.
They had only a ipad with what looked like a web form on it with minimal details like the address and owner name.
They both had lanyards with what appeared to be photo ID from their employer.
They were in plain clothes (not a uniform) and presented no written paperwork or business cards or anything.
My management company had nobody scheduled to come by and in fact has never heard of them. There is no actual insurance transaction occurring, so there should be no underwriter involvement at this point.
My guesses include potentially setting up for a robbery, or some kind of financial fraud. Anyone hear about anything like this?
