Long story short, the sellers want a rent-back and we are not in a position to do it.
Apparently they were trying to purchase another home but the sale fell through. This isn't the first time they mentioned doing a rent-back, the first time they asked then said they didn't need it. The second time we had to say 'no,' since we need to move in shortly after closing.
We said no, but now I am worried they could sabotage the sale somehow. Is that possible? All our contracts are in place and everything, but could they back out somehow?
My fears may be unjustified, but this is my first time buying a home and I am nervous about the whole process.
