Seller Removing Fixture [CA]

We are currently in escrow, set to close on August 18th in California. The home has been a rental, so they did send us an additional disclosure that the washer, dryer and fridge are not staying, as they are the tenants. We are obviously fine with that.

The problem is that there is a water softening system in the house that we saw, was discussed, and is specifically mentioned in the purchase agreement. They just sent us an email two days ago that the water softener is actually a monthly rental thing, and will be removed on the 18th.

Our water is incredibly "hard" and this was actually a pretty big selling point for us. What are our options? Our realtor is basically just relaying messages, not giving much advice or seeming to fight for us.
