Fiance and i will be in contract to purchase a house very soon. It just needs our signature and deposit. Its time for us to apply and compare rates. I have 20k in student loan debt and a lower income then him. 50k vs 57k. We want to purchase a 90k house and borrow 72k. So 20% down for no PMI. Besides my student loan there is no other debt except for credit cards which we use for daily expenses and always pay in full every month. Due to diligently paying off my student loan and credit cards i have a fico score of 826, where as fiances fico score of 752. However due to having a higher income and no student loans, my fiance has more money in the bank and will cover most of the down payment. Will it make a difference in rates who we list as borrower and coborrower. If so which of us should be listed as borrower?
