My girlfriend and I have a unique opportunity to buy the house we've been renting for the last 4 years. The landlord is very reasonable, has given us a ballpark figure, and is even open to us continuing to rent if we ultimately decide to not pursue purchasing it, which is perfect because we live in a very competitive city when it comes to buying a house and this would remove that headache.
The landlord is suggesting we not use realtors because she'll make the price cheaper to not account for having to pay them. I'm hesitant because we would be first time home owners, and the process is intimidating and complex to us, and I feel like I don't have that person to ask all of my stupid questions to. If I remove the realtor, I honestly don't know what the sequential steps are to going through with the purchase. I'm going through the process of being pre-approved, but after that I'm lost.
